The Citrix Workspace app installer installs the Microsoft Visual C Redistributable using the installation package bundled with the Citrix Workspace app installer. This process might take several minutes. The following error message appears when you launch the Citrix Workspace app installer. Installing the Microsoft Visual C Redistributable package requires administrator privileges. If you are using Citrix Workspace App on your personal workstation and are launching an application (Outlook, Adobe, Excel, Internet Explorer, etc) then the only activity that can be monitored is what you do within that application. Step 1: Download and install Citrix Workspace. This can be done by searching up 'Citrix Workspace and accessing the official Citrix site. Download the Citrix Workspace app from there and install it on your device. Step 2: Logging in. This part is what most students seem to have difficulty in seeing as there are so many posts here that have no.

How to access files saved locally when using Citrix Workspace.

1. Open Citrix Workspace and log in.

2. Open a program in the workspace. For this example, Maple is used.
3. When the program opens, go system tray in the lower right corner of the screen(the ^). Right click on Citrix Workspace, and click 'Connection Center'.
4. This will bring up your Connection Center settings. Next, click Preferences (highlighted in yellow).
5. When your preferences have opened, navigate to File Access and make sure that 'Read and write' access is selected.

The new Citrix Workspace app (formerly known as Citrix Receiver) provides a great user experience — a secure, contextual, and unified workspace — on any device. It gives you instant access to all.

That should allow Citrix to access files that you have saved on your local hard drive.
6. To access/open files, click 'File' on the top left on 'Open.' There you will see your device's files.
You should now see an icon for you computer's Hard drive. It should be listed as something like 'Local Disk (C: on YourComputerName). Drive letter may be different depending on how your computer is set up.

Understanding Keyboard Input To Virtual Desktops
By default, when you use a virtual desktop all key presses are directed to it (not the local computer) with the following exceptions:

    • Windows logo key+L is directed to the local computer.
    • CTRL+ALT+DELETE is directed to the local computer except in some cases if you use the Citrix Desktop Lock.
    • Key presses that activate StickyKeys, FilterKeys, and ToggleKeys (Microsoft accessibility features) are normally directed to the local computer.
    • As an accessibility feature of the Desktop Viewer, pressing CTRL+ALT+BREAK displays the Desktop Viewer toolbar buttons in a pop-up window.
    • Windows key combinations (for example, CTRL+ESC and ALT+TAB) are directed according to the settings that your help desk has selected.

Note: By default, if the Desktop Viewer is maximized, ALT+TAB switches focus between windows inside the session. If the Desktop Viewer is displayed in a window, ALT+TAB switches focus between windows outside the session.
Hotkey sequences are key combinations designed by Citrix. For example, the CTRL+F1 sequence reproduces CTRL+ALT+DELETE, and SHIFT+F2 switches applications between full-screen and windowed mode. You can use hotkey sequences with virtual desktops in many, but not all, setups. For example, they work with your hosted applications.
